Washington, D.C., May 29, 2020:In a POLITICO’s Women Rule Newsletter, Elizabeth Ralph features Inclusive America’s COVID analysis in discussing the workplace and economic challenges that women are facing due to the pandemic.
“Women are significantly underrepresented in the U.S. coronavirus response, according to a new analysis by Inclusive America, a nonprofit focused on increasing diversity, equity and inclusion in government. The numbers:
- The White House Coronavirus Task Force is comprised of only 9 percent women (2 of 22)
- The Great American Economic Revival Industry Groups (meant to advise the the White House on reopening the economy) are only 9.5 percent women (21 of 220)
- The White House Opportunity & Revitalization Council has only 13.04 percent women (3 of 23)
- The Bipartisan House Select Committee on the Coronavirus Crisis is 33.3 percent women (4 of 12) See the results
— Remember: Women make up around 80 percent of healthcare and social workers in the United States.”
