As a representative democracy, our government is stronger when it is truly of the people, by the people, and for the people.:
Pledge for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Knowing where candidates stand on their commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion makes for a more well-formed voting process. Being able to hold elected officials accountable is even better. Our pledge website offers a way to do both as well as let candidates know that this is an important issue for you.
Executive Orders
We believe that institutional change is necessary to ensure diversity, equity, and inclusion in our government. We’ve developed a bipartisan coalition of 100+ organizations and former Cabinet Members and are calling on the President-Elect to sign the following Executive Orders in his first 100 days of office.
Bills
In addition to Executive Orders, we also support and advocate a number of bills dedicated to structural changes to making government more representative.
Diversity Data Portal
We’re working on an interactive data portal that visualizes data on the diversity of the last 4 White House political appointees and 23 years of departmental data. This data is available to media outlets, research purposes, and further analysis.
Underrepresented Candidates Resume Bank
We, along with a coalition of others, are developing a database of underrepresented people to serve in politically appointed positions.
