The Federal Government Equity Improvement Act (H.R.7882) is a part of an reintroduction of two former bills. H.R.7882 will ensure that federal agencies continuously work on promoting equal opportunity for all that have been systematically excluded in social and civic life.
H.R.7882 will work on statutory requirements for Federal Agency advisory teams within each federal agency. Led by the agency’s Performance Improvement Officer and key internal agency offices, allowing agencies, stakeholders, and NGOs to acquire the best practices for collecting and the use of data in order to change the quality of barriers or equity, etc.
In order to achieve this is by establishing Equity Subcommittees of the existing Performance Improvement Council to help facilitate development and share data, guidance and best practices for equity in government. Also, giving permanent authorization to the Federal Chief Data Council which will work to improve the quality, the management and use of data for evidence based government operations ensuring fair and equitable outcomes. This will help the fairness and appropriate use of data to improve equity within communities of all demographics.
